The Anoma A1 Prehistoric, a distinctive new watch, draws its inspiration from ancient craftsmanship. Matteo Violet Vianello, the visionary behind Anoma, conceived this unique timepiece after a visit to the Centre Pompidou's Brancusi exhibition in Paris. There, he was captivated by a collection of primitive tools, which profoundly influenced the design direction for his latest creation. This inspiration manifests in a watch that blends the brand's signature triangular case with elements reminiscent of early human ingenuity.

The creation of the A1 Prehistoric involves meticulous handwork, setting it apart from conventional watchmaking. The watch case, made from 316L stainless steel, undergoes a five-hour hand-chiseling process by French engraver Steven Brunel, whose artistry has even graced the Louvre. This artisanal method ensures that each of the 100 pieces produced will possess a unique texture. The dial further enhances this theme, featuring approximately 600 individual lines hand-cut into a brass base, creating a sunburst pattern. This intricate design, finished in a dark anthracite, evokes the raw aesthetic of worked stone or flint. Underneath its rugged exterior, the A1 Prehistoric maintains the technical specifications of Anoma's standard A1 models, including a 39mm by 38mm lugless case, a slim 9.45mm thickness, and a Sellita SW100 automatic movement with a 38-hour power reserve. It boasts a water resistance of 50 meters and comes paired with a grey-grained Italian leather strap.
