Anticipating the Monaco Legend Spring 2026 Auction: Top Timepiece Lots

The spring auction season is approaching rapidly, with the Monaco Legend Group's upcoming event on April 25 and 26 promising an engaging and diverse selection of timepieces. While Sotheby's Hong Kong kicks off earlier, MLG's auction distinguishes itself with a blend of modern luxury and vintage rarities. The catalog features 288 lots, starting with contemporary pieces such as a Bamford-modified blackout GMT, an RM35-02 Nadal, and a Journe Répétition Souveraine. Among the most anticipated items is a rare Rolex Daytona, specifically one of the "FAB 4" unique platinum Zenith Daytonas. The showcased model, reference 16516 with a Tahitian mother-of-pearl dial, was a wedding gift to French novelist Romain Sardou and has a substantial estimate ranging from €1,500,000 to €3,000,000. Other significant Rolex watches include a "Stelline" dial ref. 6062 and a fresh-to-market ref. 6241 "John Player Special." The auction also highlights a Patek Philippe ref. 3448 with a unique doré dial and luminous hands, estimated at over €1,000,000, alongside a 605HU world time pocket watch featuring a cloisonné North American map.

Cartier also makes a strong showing with notable pieces from an important collection. The 1996 platinum Tank à Guichets, one of only three made for the "Magical Art of Cartier" auction, stands out for its rarity and modern appeal, with an estimate of €80,000 to €160,000. Additionally, a 1930s Normale on an original platinum 9-link bracelet and a Tank Obus with case enamel offer collectors a chance to acquire unique historical pieces. Vacheron Constantin is represented by two versions of the popular Cioccolatone, including a rare triple calendar moon phase from 1958 and a simpler bracelet version. A rare Vacheron Reverso, made with JLC's permission in 1933, is also available, reflecting the growing appreciation for Vacheron Constantin in the market. Other intriguing items include a Patek carré ref. 482 with a two-tone platinum and gold case, and an Omega Constellation with a signature from Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
