Audemars Piguet Introduces Code 11.59 38mm Models with Obsidian and Onyx Dials
Elegance Redefined: Audemars Piguet's Latest Code 11.59 Creations
Expanding the Code 11.59 Collection: Introducing New 38mm Models
Audemars Piguet has recently broadened its 38mm Code 11.59 Selfwinding collection, first introduced in 2023. This more compact and refined iteration of the initial 2019 series now includes two new distinguished models. These additions feature exquisite dials crafted from gold obsidian and black onyx, set within 18k yellow and pink gold cases, each radiating a unique visual charm.
The Luminous Charm of Gold Obsidian
One of the new offerings is an 18k yellow gold timepiece adorned with a natural gold obsidian dial. Obsidian, a stone formed from volcanic activity, is celebrated for its glass-like, reflective qualities. This particular variety is notable for its mineral inclusions, which create subtle golden gleams. Audemars Piguet has further enhanced the dial's texture with a sunburst pattern. The design is completed with gold-toned hour markers crafted from pink gold, yellow gold hands featuring luminescent coating, and a deep brown inner bezel that shimmers beautifully.
The Striking Sophistication of Black Onyx
The second timepiece presents a more graphic and bold aesthetic. Its pink gold case perfectly frames a black inner bezel and a natural black onyx dial. The onyx dial is meticulously mirror-polished, bringing forth the stone's profound, uniform depth. Hour markers are elegantly rendered with 13 baguette-cut diamonds, including a double marker at 12 o'clock, collectively weighing approximately 0.37 carats. The pink gold hands are also treated with luminescent material. Notably, both new references omit the date display found in other 38mm Code 11.59 models, simplifying the dial's clean lines.
Precision Engineering: Case Design and Movement
Both new watches uphold the signature 38mm Code 11.59 case architecture, featuring a double-curved sapphire crystal and a sapphire caseback, both enhanced with anti-reflective treatments. The cases maintain a slender profile at 9.6mm thickness and are water-resistant up to 30 meters. These timepieces are powered by the automatic calibre 5909, a movement derived from the AP 5900 Vaucher base. This sophisticated calibre, measuring 26.2mm in diameter and 3.9mm thick, consists of 174 components and 29 jewels. It operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a robust 60-hour power reserve.
Luxurious Details and Availability
The yellow gold model with the gold obsidian dial is paired with a black alligator strap, offering a subtle sheen that harmonizes with the watch's warm metallic and dial tones. The pink gold and black onyx version is presented on a glossy black alligator strap. Both straps are secured with a pin buckle that matches the case material. The yellow gold obsidian model is priced at CHF 45,500, while the pink gold onyx version is available for CHF 54,100, inclusive of taxes.
