The Black in Jewelry Coalition (BIJC), established in 2020, has become a prominent fixture at JCK Las Vegas since its debut in 2022. This year, several of its members are showcasing their work across The Venetian Expo. Notable participants include Dorian Webb at the Luxury show, Lauren Newton within the Design Collective at JCK, and Rejected Hearts Club exhibiting in the Fashion/Bridge pavilion.

These three designers, while each bringing their individual journeys and aesthetics to their collections, collectively emphasize the ongoing dedication of the jewelry sector to cultivating diverse talent and engaging with an expanded audience of buyers. Their participation serves as a testament to the industry's evolving landscape and its embrace of varied artistic perspectives.

Among the featured artists, Dorian Webb, based in Oakland, California, is unveiling new additions to her Trellis collection at stand D119 in the Luxury show. Her offerings include 18k yellow gold knife-edge earrings and stackable rings adorned with natural diamonds, reflecting an architectural sensibility that allows for versatile day-to-night wear. Webb, a finalist for the 2026 David Yurman Gem Award, expressed that her designs encourage wearers to personalize their pieces, making each combination a distinct reflection of their individual style. Similarly, Brooklyn-based designer Lauren Newton, making her JCK debut at booth 14049A in the Design Collective, showcases a fine jewelry collection born from 15 years as a bench jeweler. Her 18k gold creations blend playful, nostalgic elements inspired by her childhood and zoology background with contemporary interpretations of Victorian motifs and gem setting techniques. Newton believes that luxury should be enjoyable and integrated into everyday life. Finally, Jamie Batiste, founder of Rejected Hearts Club, returns to JCK at booth 12133 in the Bridge neighborhood. Founded in 2010, her Austin, Texas-based brand offers emotionally resonant fine jewelry at accessible price points. Her signature Story of Three Hearts stud earrings exemplify the brand's philosophy, serving as a subtle daily affirmation that one's heart is always precious, symbolizing healing and self-worth.

These designers exemplify the power of creativity and personal narrative in shaping the future of the jewelry industry. Their commitment to innovation and inclusivity enriches the marketplace, inspiring both fellow creators and consumers to appreciate the beauty of diversity and the profound stories embedded within each piece of adornment. Their work not only sets new trends but also fosters a more vibrant and equitable community for all.
