On June 26, 1801, Abraham-Louis Breguet obtained the patent for his revolutionary invention, the tourbillon, a mechanism designed to counteract the effects of gravity on watch accuracy. To commemorate this 225th anniversary, the esteemed watchmaker Breguet has introduced a trio of sophisticated new tourbillon watches: the Classique Tourbillon Sidéral 7255, the Tradition Tourbillon 7047 Fusee and Chain, and the Marine Tourbillon Équation Marchante. Each piece stands as a testament to the brand's enduring legacy of innovation and craftsmanship, blending historical significance with contemporary elegance.

The Classique Tourbillon Sidéral 7255 makes a grand return in a platinum casing, maintaining its refined 38mm diameter and 10.2mm profile. This iteration distinguishes itself with a striking black aventurine enamel dial, perfectly complemented by rhodium-plated Breguet numerals and hands. The watch features a captivating flying tourbillon, ingeniously designed with sapphire glass components to create an illusion of suspension, highlighting the mechanical artistry. Powering this masterpiece is Breguet's Calibre 187M1, a manual-winding movement renowned for its precision, offering a 50-hour power reserve. The caseback reveals an intricately guillochéd mainplate crafted from rhodium-plated 18K Breguet gold, further enhancing its exclusivity as a limited edition of 50 pieces.

Next, the Tradition Tourbillon 7047 Fusee and Chain emerges as a bold reinterpretation, characterized by a vibrant blue palette. Encased in 41mm platinum, this watch combines the tourbillon with a fusée-and-chain constant force mechanism, ensuring consistent energy delivery. The 'Bleu de France' dial and bridges, along with the palladium gold enamel dial, create a dynamic contrast against the glacier blue movement mainplate. Even the tourbillon's traditional ruby jewel has been thoughtfully replaced with a blue spinel to maintain chromatic harmony. The Calibre 569, beating at 2.5Hz with a silicon balance spring, underscores the watch's technical prowess, providing a 55-hour power reserve. This stunning model is limited to just 25 units.

Finally, the Marine Tourbillon Équation Marchante 5887, a sportier yet equally complex offering, is presented entirely in platinum. This model, part of the Marine collection, pays homage to A.-L. Breguet's role as Horloger de la Marine Royale. Its most remarkable feature is the dial, which meticulously depicts the night sky over Paris on June 26, 1801, the day the tourbillon patent was granted. The dial's central sapphire section showcases a hand-painted miniature in gradient-blue Grand Feu enamel, illustrating constellations and the moon. This watch boasts a perpetual calendar, tourbillon, and a running equation of time, providing both mean and true solar time. The in-house Calibre 581DPE, with an 80-hour power reserve, is housed within the 43.9mm platinum case. The caseback features a hand-engraved depiction of the 18th-century ship Royal Louis, further enriching its maritime theme. This exceptional timepiece is also a limited edition of 25.

These three commemorative timepieces collectively celebrate Breguet's profound historical influence on watchmaking while demonstrating its ongoing commitment to pushing the boundaries of haute horology. Each watch, with its distinct character and advanced complications, offers collectors a unique opportunity to own a piece of horological history re-envisioned for the modern era.
