Feb 05, 2026, 5:47 PM

Breitling is making its grand entrance into the thrilling realm of Formula 1 racing this year, establishing an official alliance with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team. This strategic move underscores Breitling's expanding presence in prominent sports markets, with Formula 1 currently holding a prime position. Anticipation is building for the 2026 season, which will introduce a new set of regulations, and teams are already showcasing their updated car designs. The Aston Martin AMR26, masterfully crafted by Adrian Newy, is slated for its reveal on February 9th, and Breitling's influence will be integral to its aesthetic. To commemorate this significant collaboration, Breitling is unveiling a special edition Navitimer B01 Chronograph.

While this marks Breitling's formal entry into Formula 1, the brand's historical ties to motor racing are extensive. As Georges Kern, CEO of Breitling, explained to Robb Report, the brand has always been connected to the sport. Iconic drivers of the 1960s and 70s, including Jack Brabham, Graham Hill, and Jim Clark, were known to use their Breitling timepieces for timing purposes, demonstrating a natural synergy that predates formal sponsorships. Furthermore, a subtle yet intriguing connection exists between Breitling and Aston Martin through their shared association with James Bond, as depicted by Sean Connery in the 1965 film Thunderball, adding a layer of sophisticated allure to this new partnership.

The newly introduced Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43 Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team is a groundbreaking release, being the first Navitimer to boast a titanium case. Its design features a carbon fiber dial with subtle green undertones and a vibrant green timing seconds hand. A strap inspired by automotive seatbelts, finished in British Racing Green on the interior, further enhances its connection to the racing world. The watch's open caseback provides a clear view of Breitling's in-house manufactured B01 automatic chronograph movement, which is COSC certified for precision. Production will be limited to 1,959 units, a figure that acknowledges Aston Martin's initial foray into Formula 1. Breitling CEO Georges Kern emphasized the substantial investment this partnership represents for the brand, hinting that this is merely the beginning of their journey together.

The fusion of Breitling's horological excellence with Aston Martin's racing pedigree exemplifies a powerful synergy between precision engineering and high-performance. This collaboration transcends a mere product launch; it's a testament to shared values of innovation, heritage, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. It reminds us that when two great entities unite, their combined efforts can create something truly remarkable, pushing boundaries and inspiring new generations to appreciate the intricate beauty of both watchmaking and motorsport.
