The latest offering from Breitling and Aston Martin, the Top Time B01 Chronograph 41 Tribute to Aston Martin DB5, draws inspiration from a memorable moment in film history. This watch commemorates the Breitling Top Time worn by Sean Connery's James Bond while driving the famous Aston Martin DB5 in the 1965 film Thunderball, marking it as the first gadget watch modified by Q in the franchise.

This special collection features three distinct limited-edition models, each powered by Breitling's advanced Calibre 01 movement. The design elements are deeply rooted in automotive aesthetics, incorporating elegant wood accents and premium leather straps, reflecting the luxurious interiors of classic cars. These timepieces are produced in limited quantities of 1,022, 315, and 250 units, respectively, ensuring their exclusivity.

Inspired by Automotive Interiors

The design philosophy behind these watches prioritizes an interior-led approach. A prominent wooden inner ring evokes the classic steering wheel of the DB5, while the carefully hand-colored gradient leather straps mirror the rich textures and hues found in high-end automotive upholstery. The distinctive "squircle" subdials are designed to mimic the gauges on a vintage car's dashboard. The watches retain the classic cushion-shaped case, grooved corners, and mushroom pushers of the original 1960s Top Time, updated to a contemporary 41 mm size.

Pricing and Availability of the Collection

The collection offers a range of options, starting with a stainless steel model featuring a silver dial, limited to 1,022 pieces, priced at $11,400. A more exclusive steel and platinum version with a black lacquered dial, limited to 315 pieces, is available for $18,600. The pinnacle of the collection is an 18k red gold model with a natural onyx dial, restricted to just 250 pieces and priced at $41,500. This marks the first instance of Breitling incorporating onyx into its watch designs.

The Evolution of a Partnership

This release represents the second limited edition born from the collaboration between Breitling and Aston Martin, which commenced in early 2026. The initial offering was a titanium Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43 Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, limited to 1,959 pieces, which quickly sold out. The new DB5 tribute shifts the focus from motorsport to celebrating Aston Martin's rich road car heritage. All three models are currently available for purchase at Breitling boutiques and through authorized dealers worldwide.
