Bulgari, the esteemed Roman jewelry maison, is poised for a significant leadership transition with the announcement of Laura Burdese as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective July 2026. This move represents a strategic evolution for the luxury brand, recognizing Burdese's instrumental role in its recent successes and charting a new course for future growth and innovation under her guidance. The restructuring reflects a commitment to leveraging key talent while ensuring continuity in its strategic vision and brand elevation efforts.

Laura Burdese's journey within the LVMH Group, Bulgari's parent company, has been marked by a rapid ascent through key leadership positions. She initially joined the prestigious conglomerate in 2016 as the Chief Executive Officer of Acqua di Parma, a luxury perfume and skincare brand also under the LVMH umbrella. Her successful tenure there paved the way for her transition to Bulgari in 2022, where she assumed the pivotal role of Chief Marketing Officer. In this capacity, Burdese was responsible for shaping Bulgari's global brand image and marketing strategies, contributing significantly to its visibility and market presence. Her exceptional performance and strategic insights were further recognized in July 2024, when she was promoted to deputy CEO, working closely alongside the incumbent CEO, Jean-Christophe Babin.

As the incoming CEO, Burdese will report directly to Stéphane Bianchi, the Managing Director and CEO of LVMH Watches & Jewelry. This reporting structure underscores the integrated approach LVMH takes in managing its diverse portfolio of luxury brands, ensuring alignment with the group's overarching strategies while allowing individual maisons to maintain their unique identities and operational autonomy.

The current CEO, Jean-Christophe Babin, will transition into a new set of critical roles within the organization. While stepping down from his CEO position at Bulgari, he will continue to serve as the Chair of the board, providing strategic oversight and guidance. Furthermore, Babin will assume the role of CEO of the Bulgari Hotel, a growing segment of the luxury brand that extends its opulent aesthetic into hospitality. He will also retain his position as President of the Bulgari Foundation and continue as CEO of LVMH Watches, demonstrating his ongoing commitment and integral role within the broader LVMH Watches & Jewelry division.

Stéphane Bianchi lauded Burdese's appointment, emphasizing her profound impact on Bulgari's recent achievements. In a company statement, Bianchi remarked, “For the past three years, Laura and Jean-Christophe have worked side by side to sustain and orchestrate the brand elevation of the iconic Roman jewelry maison … The nomination of Laura, while opening a new chapter for Bulgari, is a tribute to her strong contribution and accomplishments.” This sentiment highlights the collaborative nature of the transition and the confidence placed in Burdese's leadership to steer Bulgari into its next era of success and innovation. The change in leadership signifies not a departure from the brand's heritage but rather a forward-looking strategy to build upon its legacy with fresh perspectives and continued excellence.
