DUG Glashütte, a brand renowned for adhering to the stringent Glashütte origin standards, has announced an exciting expansion to its Purist collection. The latest addition, the Purist 37, introduces a more refined and compact 37mm case, building upon the foundational success of its 40mm predecessor. This new series significantly broadens the customization options available to enthusiasts, allowing them to select from various configurations including two distinct dial types, the inclusion or exclusion of a date display, three elegant dial colors, and a choice between a classic leather strap or a contemporary steel bracelet. This move underscores the brand's dedication to blending traditional Saxon watchmaking with modern preferences for versatile sizing and personalized aesthetics.

The Purist 37 showcases a meticulously crafted three-piece stainless-steel case, exemplifying a harmonious blend of brushed and polished finishes. Its dimensions are thoughtfully considered, measuring 37mm in diameter, a slender 10.35mm in thickness, and a lug-to-lug distance of 43.9mm, ensuring a comfortable fit for a diverse range of wrists. A distinct diamond-shaped fluted crown adds a touch of classic elegance. The dial is safeguarded by a slightly domed sapphire crystal, enhanced with anti-reflective coating on both sides for optimal clarity, while a sapphire crystal caseback provides an unobstructed view of the intricate movement within. This timepiece is also built for everyday wear, offering a robust water resistance of 100 meters, making it as practical as it is aesthetically pleasing.

The dial of the Purist 37 offers an array of choices to suit individual tastes. The Typ 1 variant embodies a minimalist aesthetic with its sleek baton hour markers, projecting an understated sophistication. In contrast, the Typ 2 model features traditional Arabic numerals, offering a more classic and legible appearance. Both versions provide the option of an elegantly integrated date display at the 6 o'clock position, with the date disc thoughtfully color-matched to the dial for seamless integration. Available in three captivating colors—Onyx Black, Moon White, and Royal Blue—each dial boasts a textured surface adorned with applied markers and luminous hands. These elements are filled with Super-LumiNova BG W9, ensuring excellent readability in various lighting conditions. The date function is consistently available across all models, enhancing their practical appeal.

At the heart of the Purist 37 beats the DUG 200 automatic movement, a refined caliber based on the reliable Sellita SW 200. This movement undergoes extensive finishing and decoration within the prestigious watchmaking town of Glashütte, Saxony. It features exquisite hand-applied Glashütte perlage, meticulously finished bridges and plates, and characteristic blued screws, all visible through the sapphire caseback. The openworked rotor, also manufactured in Glashütte, is sumptuously finished with 24k gold plating and incorporates a tungsten weight for efficient winding. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the DUG 200 provides a dependable 40-hour power reserve, marrying precision with traditional German horological artistry.

Completing the Purist 37's refined presentation are the versatile strap options. Customers can choose between a premium genuine buffalo leather strap or a robust stainless-steel bracelet, both designed for convenience with a quick-release system. The leather strap, measuring 18mm at the lugs and tapering to 16mm, is offered in various colors specifically chosen to complement the distinct dial variations. This thoughtful approach to customization ensures that each Purist 37 can be tailored to reflect the wearer's personal style, enhancing both comfort and aesthetic appeal.

The DUG Glashütte Purist 37 collection represents a significant step for the brand, offering a more accessible and versatile option for those who appreciate the essence of Glashütte watchmaking in a more compact form factor. With its meticulously crafted case, diverse dial configurations, and finely finished movement, the Purist 37 is poised to attract a broader audience while upholding the brand's commitment to quality and tradition. It successfully blends timeless design with practical features, making it a compelling choice for discerning watch enthusiasts.
