Florida Man Apprehended for Jewelry Store Robberies, Valuables Discovered in Toothpaste Box

A Florida resident is facing serious charges in connection with a pair of jewelry store burglaries. Law enforcement officials indicate that the individual utilized a hammer to forcibly enter two establishments over a two-week period, pilfering merchandise valued at more than $112,000. A notable find during the investigation was a stash of the stolen items, specifically Foundrae-branded jewelry, cleverly hidden inside an ordinary toothpaste box at a motel where the suspect was located.

The suspect, Montrel J. Banks, was apprehended after surveillance footage allegedly linked him to the July 29 break-in at Foundrae, a jewelry store located at 450 S. County Road. Records show he is accused of smashing the front door and display cases, absconding with an estimated $112,490 in precious items. Investigators further connected Banks to an earlier incident on July 16 at BLESK Jewelry on Worth Avenue, where similar surveillance footage showed him breaking a display case before fleeing in a rideshare vehicle. It was discovered that he later pawned the pilfered jewelry at Lake Worth Gold Mine within hours of the BLESK robbery. Banks is currently being held at the Palm Beach County Jail, facing charges of burglary, first-degree grand theft, and criminal mischief.
