Grand Seiko Unveils Precision and Comfort Upgrades for Evolution 9 Series

On June 24, 2026, Grand Seiko introduced a significant update to its Evolution 9 collection, bringing forth nine new references that promise enhanced precision and wearability. The most notable improvements, which have been eagerly anticipated by collectors, are the integration of tapered bracelets and micro-adjustment clasps. These features, previously seen in the original Evolution UFA SLGB003, now extend across the entire core collection, available in both steel and titanium, and in popular 37mm and 40mm case sizes.

A pivotal change involves the movement, with the 5-day Spring Drive 9RA2 calibers being phased out in favor of the Ultra-Fine Adjustment (U.F.A) caliber 9RB2. This advanced movement offers an impressive annual accuracy of +/- 20 seconds, equivalent to +/- 3 seconds per month, underscoring Grand Seiko's commitment to precision. The Black Birch (SLGH029), White Birch (SLGH031), and Green Birch (SLGH033) models retain their distinctive dials but the White and Green Birch variants are now offered in Ever-Brilliant Steel. A brand new, non-limited reference, the SLGH035 Genbi Valley, incorporates the unique scaled pattern from a previous limited edition with a delicate light blue color. All these mechanical models also benefit from the new tapered bracelet and micro-adjustment clasp.

The Spring Drive models are scheduled for release in September, with the mechanical models following in October. Pricing for the Ever-Brilliant Steel versions, both Spring Drive U.F.A and mechanical, is set at $10,200, while the High-Intensity Titanium models will retail for $11,400.
