Hublot Introduces the Tactile Big Bang Original Soft Touch

Hublot introduces an innovative iteration of its Big Bang Original series, dubbed the Soft Touch. This timepiece reimagines the traditional tactile watch, moving beyond mere time indication to emphasize a unique sensory experience. While classic tactile watches, such as those pioneered by Breguet in the late 18th century, allowed users to discern time by touch, this contemporary version focuses purely on the haptic sensation, offering a surprisingly soft and smooth feel to the touch.

The collection features two distinct models: the All Black and the All Red chronographs. Both watches measure 43mm in diameter and 13.2mm in thickness, maintaining the iconic robust design of the Big Bang Original. What sets them apart is the application of a specially developed, velvet-like rubber compound that encases parts of the titanium case, bezel, and strap. This material is not merely a coating; its textured, velvety finish is integrated during manufacturing, providing both durability and a distinctive aesthetic. The integration of this unique rubber extends to the crown and pushers, further enhancing the watch's unified tactile appeal.

Beyond their unique exterior, these timepieces are powered by Hublot's in-house Unico automatic flyback chronograph caliber HUB1280. This intricate movement, comprising 354 components, features a column wheel, dual-clutch system, and a silicon escapement, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a substantial 72-hour power reserve. With a water resistance of 100 meters and a price point of approximately €24,400 / US$24,900 / £19,600 / CHF 20,700, the Big Bang Original Soft Touch models represent Hublot's continued exploration of material science and design, inviting wearers to engage with their timepieces on an entirely new sensory level.
