IIJS Bharat - Signature 2026: A Premier Global Jewellery Exhibition
The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) is organizing the IIJS Bharat - Signature 2026, a significant event poised to kick off the annual jewellery trade calendar. This prestigious exhibition will take place across two major venues in Mumbai from January 8-12, 2026, marking it as one of the first and most influential trade fairs of the year for the global gem and jewellery industry.
The exhibition is set to showcase an extensive array of products and services, featuring over 1,600 exhibitors spread across more than 3,300 stalls, covering an impressive 1.25 lakh square meters. It is expected to draw over 25,000 trade buyers from more than 800 Indian cities, alongside 1,400 international buyers from 40 different countries, including 12 international buyer delegations. The diverse offerings will encompass gold, diamonds, silver, loose natural diamonds, colored gemstones, couture jewellery, and lab-grown diamonds, as well as specialized machinery and related technologies. A dedicated luxury segment, the Select CLUB, at the Jio World Convention Centre, will highlight high-end couture and exquisite jewellery from 107 companies, catering to premium buyers and connoisseurs. This year's edition also boasts the participation of 368 new companies, further emphasizing the event's growing significance and vitality in the industry.
Beyond commerce, IIJS Bharat - Signature 2026 will celebrate India's rich heritage in jewellery craftsmanship through its 'Brilliant Bharat - Art Forms of India' theme. This will include a dedicated Crafts Pavilion featuring live demonstrations by National Award-winning artisans showcasing traditional techniques like Filigree and Banarasi Meenakari, along with GI-tagged jewellery traditions such as Thewa and Cuttack's silver filigree. The event will also host the Jewellery Crafts Design Competition to foster design excellence inspired by traditional Indian art forms, with winning pieces displayed at the Brilliant Bharat Theme Gallery. Complementing these initiatives, the Innov8 Talks and Symposium Knowledge Forums will address critical industry topics like the future of the natural diamond market, Free Trade Agreements, advancements in lab-grown diamond technology, and the impact of Artificial Intelligence on jewellery design and retail. Additionally, the GJEPC will unveil JewelStart, an incubation platform to support emerging enterprises, and continue its commitment to sustainability by eliminating over 600,000 single-use plastic water bottles at the BEC venue as part of its 'One Earth' initiative. The council has also significantly enhanced the overall participant experience with digital entry, an interactive mobile app, shuttle services, and advanced search functionalities to streamline business interactions.
In an ever-evolving global market, the IIJS Bharat - Signature 2026 stands as a testament to the enduring appeal and boundless potential of the jewellery industry. By embracing both time-honored traditions and cutting-edge innovations, and by fostering collaboration on an international scale, the exhibition not only sets the stage for a prosperous year ahead but also illuminates the path towards a more sustainable and creatively vibrant future for all.
