Luxury Meets Philanthropy: The Louis Vuitton Unity Time Object Unveiled

Louis Vuitton, in celebration of its decade-long collaboration with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), has created an exquisite “Unity Time Object.” This unique horological piece, designed as a soccer ball clock, is set to be auctioned at Sotheby's from June 9 to June 18, 2026. All proceeds will directly benefit UNICEF’s initiatives to provide humanitarian and developmental aid to children worldwide. The creation of this special item involved the combined expertise of La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, Swiss movement manufacturer L'Épée 1839, and Louis Vuitton’s historic trunk-making ateliers.

The centerpiece of this artistic clock is a sculpted golden steel dome that intricately displays time. It features two rotating cylinders, one for hours and another for minutes, adorned with Louis Vuitton's iconic Monogram motif and floral patterns. The brand’s signature “Louis Vuitton Paris” is elegantly engraved at the top of the minute cylinder. Encircling the hour and minute apertures are 144 white and 120 black diamonds, collectively weighing 1.03 carats. The movement, a creation of L'Épée 1839, is showcased through a skeletonized structure, revealing its complex mechanics, including screws and the movement plate, which also bear the Monogram flower design. The clock is precisely wound and set using a key that can be inserted either from the side or the top.

This magnificent timepiece is presented within a bespoke trophy-style trunk, meticulously handcrafted from Louis Vuitton’s signature Monogram canvas at the house’s historic workshop in Asnières. The trunk’s exterior is finished with traditional brass corner protectors, locks, and clasps, mirroring those found on Louis Vuitton trunks since the 1860s, embodying the brand's rich heritage.
