May 11, 2026, 8:29 AM

Nivada Grenchen, in partnership with the French watch publication Le Petit Poussoir, has unveiled a new limited-edition timepiece, the F77 Polar White MK1. This exclusive model stands out with its pristine, matte white dial, a departure from the textured and colored variations typically found in the F77 collection. Designed for those who appreciate a clean aesthetic, this watch combines classic design elements with reliable Swiss engineering.

Nivada Grenchen x Le Petit Poussoir F77 Polar White MK1: A Detailed Look

The collaboration between Nivada Grenchen and Le Petit Poussoir, spearheaded by Ludovic Barrois and Guillaume Laidet, brings forth a watch that, surprisingly, had not existed in this pure form before. Released in May 2026, the F77 Polar White MK1 revives the more angular case design of the original MK1, which Barrois personally favors over the MK2's more rounded lugs. The robust 316L stainless steel case measures 37mm in diameter and has a lug-to-lug distance of 45mm, with a thickness of 12.65mm including its double-domed sapphire crystal. This subtle increase in thickness compared to the MK2 models is unlikely to deter enthusiasts.

A key feature of this limited edition is its luminescent baton hands, which offer superior readability in low-light conditions compared to the unlumed dauphine hands found on some MK2 stone-dial variants. These hands perfectly complement the applied luminous hour markers, enhancing both functionality and aesthetic coherence. The heart of the F77 Polar White MK1 is a Swiss-made Soprod P024 automatic movement. This caliber boasts a 38-hour power reserve, 25 jewels, and operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz). The watch is also equipped with a screw-down crown and an engraved, all-steel screw-in case back, ensuring a water resistance of up to 100 meters (10 ATM).

While the MK1's lack of drilled lug holes might make strap changes slightly more challenging, it contributes to the sleek, uninterrupted lines of its pronounced lugs. The watch comes with an integrated three-row bracelet crafted from 316L stainless steel, featuring a blend of brushed and polished finishes and a push-button operated folding clasp with micro-adjustment options. Priced at €1,420, this limited edition is a coveted item, with only 33 pieces available for purchase through Le Petit Poussoir's official shop.

From a journalist's perspective, this limited edition represents a smart move by Nivada Grenchen and Le Petit Poussoir. It taps into a desire for simplicity and elegance in a market often saturated with complex designs and vibrant colors. The matte polar white dial provides a refreshing contrast to the intricate angles of the F77's case, allowing the craftsmanship of the watch itself to take center stage. The decision to revert to the MK1's more assertive lug design also speaks to an appreciation for heritage and a distinct character that many collectors seek. This release is a testament to the idea that sometimes, less is indeed more, and a well-executed classic can be more compelling than an overly embellished novelty. Its limited availability further enhances its allure, making it a truly special offering for discerning watch enthusiasts.
