Parmigiani Fleurier expands its Tonda PF Sport Chronograph Ultra-Cermet series with a striking new iteration: the Mineral Blue model. Initially launched in 2023 as a "weekend watch" with time-and-date options and diverse color palettes, the Tonda PF Sport line evolved in 2025 with an Ultra-Cermet variant. This innovative material, a blend of ceramic and approximately 40% titanium, marked a significant advancement in high-end watchmaking. Parmigiani Fleurier pioneered the use of Ultra-Cermet for nearly all external components of a watch, not just the case, showcasing its commitment to sophisticated composite technology typically found in industrial applications. This latest release maintains the watch's technical prowess while introducing a fresh aesthetic that deviates from the monochromatic designs of previous Milano Blue or London Grey Ultra-Cermet chronographs.

The Tonda PF Sport Chronograph Ultra-Cermet features a meticulously engineered 42.5mm case, comprising 72 components and standing 13.3mm tall. The central case, the signature fluted bezel, the screw-down crown, and the chronograph pushers are all fashioned from this advanced Ultra-Cermet. The material, known for its ceramic-like hardness (around 1,450 Vickers) and scratch resistance, also offers the tactile coolness and metallic sheen of titanium. Its creation involves a precise sintering process, compacting ultra-fine ceramic and titanium powders under heat and pressure without reaching their melting points. Subsequent diamond tooling allows for intricate, precise component shaping. The watch's 100-meter water resistance ensures durability, while the interplay of satin-brushed and polished finishes accentuates the material's dynamic properties and upholds the Tonda PF collection's characteristic understated elegance. The new Mineral Blue colorway introduces a Blackor-treated dial surface complemented by blue subdials, which shift in tone with varying light. The satin finish enhances the dial's sophistication, while hand-applied Blackor-plated 18k gold indices and skeletonized gold hands incorporate luminescence. Steel chronograph and small-seconds hands, along with the applied PF logo, complete the cohesive dark monochrome theme.

Driving this timepiece is the in-house calibre PF070, developed in collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. This integrated automatic chronograph movement boasts a column-wheel and vertical clutch, operates at a high frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour, and offers a robust 65-hour power reserve. Certified by COSC, the movement consists of 288 components and is remarkably slender at 6.95mm. Its intricate decoration includes satin-finished openworked bridges with hand-beveled edges and a skeletonized 22k rose gold rotor featuring polished and sandblasted surfaces, visible through the sapphire caseback. The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Sport Chronograph Ultra-Cermet Mineral Blue is presented on a matching Mineral Blue textured rubber strap, secured with an Ultra-Cermet pin buckle, and is now part of the brand's permanent collection, priced at CHF 40,400 (excluding VAT).
