The new "Petite Seconde Heure Dorée" model introduces a striking blend of contemporary design and intricate mechanical artistry, drawing inspiration from the interplay of light and shadow during the late hours of the day. This limited-edition timepiece underscores the brand's dedication to developing and producing its movements in-house, ensuring a unique and high-quality horological experience.

Introducing the "Petite Seconde Heure Dorée"

In a recent unveiling, Schwarz Etienne introduced a novel interpretation of its esteemed 1902 Petite Seconde series. This new timepiece, the "Heure Dorée," comes encased in a 39mm diameter Grade 5 titanium, meticulously treated with a multi-layer black DLC coating, giving it a distinctively robust yet sophisticated dark aesthetic. The watch's profile measures 10.90mm in thickness with a lug-to-lug distance of 45.8mm, ensuring a comfortable fit on the wrist. The bezel boasts a refined circular satin finish, complemented by lugs that alternate between satin and polished surfaces, elegantly curving towards the wearer's wrist. The crown, also DLC-coated titanium, is subtly engraved with the Schwarz Etienne logo. Engineered for resilience, the watch offers water resistance up to 50 meters.

The dial itself is a masterpiece of contrast and texture. It features a silky-grained central area surrounded by a black opaline upper plate, creating a dynamic visual effect that shifts with ambient light. The traditional small seconds sub-dial is positioned at 6 o'clock. Against the profound black backdrop, the applied indices and lancine-style hour and minute hands are finished in a luxurious 4N PVD gold tone, with a blend of sandblasted and polished surfaces. The brand's logo, also in polished 4N gold, is subtly applied, and the minute and small-seconds tracks echo this gilded hue.

A sapphire crystal caseback offers an unimpeded view of the intricate Schwarz Etienne ASE 300.00, an automatic micro-rotor movement conceived, manufactured, and assembled within the company's facilities in La Chaux-de-Fonds. This remarkable calibre, comprising 191 components and 29 jewels, operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and provides an impressive 86-hour power reserve. For this specific edition, the movement's components have been treated with anthracite and ruthenium tones, harmonizing with the dial's dark theme. The bridges showcase circular and concentric Côtes de Genève patterns, while the sandblasted mainplate features polished bevels and tone-on-tone engraving. The micro-rotor is polished and satin-finished with a hand-polished bevel, also treated in 4N PVD to match the dial's gold accents. The ratchet wheel, adorned with hand-finished decoration, proudly displays the limited-edition designation filled with anthracite lacquer.

Completing the ensemble is a black Cordura strap, lined with black rubber, and secured by a Grade 5 titanium pin buckle, which also receives the multi-layer DLC coating. The "1902 Petite Seconde Heure Dorée" is an exclusive release, limited to only 8 pieces worldwide, priced at EUR 21,890.
