Seiko Introduces Two New Astron GPS Solar Dual Time Chronographs with Gray Ceramic Accents

Seiko has launched two new additions to its Astron GPS Solar Dual Time Chronograph series, integrating gray ceramic for the first time in the collection. These new models, HAB007 and HAB008, feature this gleaming, non-metallic material on the bezel, crown cap, and the central links of the bracelet. While both share these innovative ceramic elements, they are distinguished by their differing titanium components, with the HAB007 presenting an all-gray aesthetic and the HAB008 offering a darker, almost-black dark gray variant. Intriguingly, these latest timepieces, powered by light and connected to satellites, utilize the caliber 5X83, a movement introduced in 2024, rather than the newer 5X63 caliber released this year.

The choice of the 5X83 caliber for these new Astron models, despite the availability of the more recent 5X63, is a notable design decision. The 5X83 caliber features a distinctive 6-9-12 sub-dial arrangement, which sets it apart visually from the 5X63's more conventional 3-6-9 layout.
