Seiko Unveils Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver HBC010 European Limited Edition

Seiko's Prospex line, renowned for its diverse range of dive watches, introduces a captivating new model: the 1965 Heritage Diver HBC010. This European-exclusive limited edition draws inspiration from the picturesque Lake Hallstatt in Austria, featuring a distinctive green and gilt aesthetic. It represents a modern reinterpretation of the brand's pioneering 1965 dive watch, the 62MAS, incorporating contemporary advancements while honoring its historical roots.

The HBC010 model retains the classic silhouette of the 1965 62MAS, distinguished by its 3 o'clock crown position. Building upon the 2024 enhancements, this timepiece boasts a subtly streamlined 40mm diameter case, a reduced 13mm thickness, and a more compact 46.4mm lug-to-lug measurement, all while significantly boosting water resistance to 300m from the previous 200m. Key features include a screw-down crown and caseback, a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, and a unidirectional bezel with a 60-minute scale, all contributing to its robust diving capabilities.

This particular iteration distinguishes itself with a rich dark green dial and bezel, complemented by elegant gold-colored accents. The bezel features cream-toned inscriptions on its matte, grained metal insert, while the sunray-brushed dial showcases gilt hour markers and hands, enhanced with Lumibrite for optimal legibility. Powering the watch is Seiko's in-house Calibre 6R55, an automatic movement offering a substantial 72-hour power reserve and beating at 3Hz.
