Singapore's Jewellery and Diamond Industry Flourishes with Record-Breaking Expo and Inaugural Week-Long Celebration

Singapore is strengthening its stature as a leading destination for luxury and jewellery commerce in the region, marked by the opening of the Singapore International Jewellery Expo (SIJE) 2026. This year's exhibition stands as the largest in its 21-year history, complemented by the debut of the Singapore Diamond & Jewellery Week (SDJW). These significant events highlight the strategic value of the diamond and jewellery sector to Singapore's international trade and high-end retail environment. The official opening ceremony, graced by Mr. Alvin Tan, Minister of State for Trade and Industry and National Development, emphasized this importance. Running from July 9 to 12, 2026, at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, SIJE 2026 features over 460 exhibitors from 26 nations across more than 10,000 square meters. This year's SIJE represents a pivotal moment, serving as one of the two core events of the newly established Singapore Diamond & Jewellery Week. The other major event is the 41st World Diamond Congress, returning to Singapore from July 12 to 15, 2026, after a 38-year hiatus. Together, these gatherings position Singapore as a central meeting point for the worldwide jewellery and diamond community, drawing in international jewellers, gemstone merchants, luxury watchmakers, diamond producers, traders, retailers, designers, collectors, investors, and industry leaders for a week dedicated to commerce, creativity, artistry, and international partnerships. The 21st edition also introduces a refreshed brand identity for SIJE, featuring a new logo and updated visual elements that reflect its dedication to providing an engaging and discovery-rich experience for both attendees and exhibitors.

Despite ongoing global economic uncertainties, SIJE 2026 has attracted significant international participation, underscoring persistent confidence in Singapore as a stable and business-friendly hub for the jewellery, gemstone, and luxury watch sectors. Major international participants from Italy, Hong Kong, and Uzbekistan, alongside exhibitors from various parts of Asia and Europe, highlight Singapore's increasing importance as a conduit between global brands and Southeast Asia's expanding luxury consumer base. Visitors can anticipate an extraordinary display of fine jewellery from renowned international brands, rare diamonds and colored gemstones, gold and precious metal creations, contemporary and bespoke jewellery, luxury mechanical watches, and the latest in jewellery manufacturing technology. A notable addition to this year's exhibition is a replica of the Crown of Carlo di Borbone, displayed at the Diamond Exchange of Singapore (DES) Pavilion, offering a unique glimpse into European royal jewellery history and the legendary 'Perfect Colour of Violet' diamond.
