Tudor Launches New "Blue" Black Bay 54 Dive Watch

Apr 14, 2026, 8:36 AM

Tudor has introduced a fresh color option for its mid-sized Black Bay 54 dive watch, featuring a new "sapphire blue" dial. This marks the third variation for the model since its debut in 2023 with a classic black dial, followed by the distinctive "Lagoon Blue" version last year, which showcased a polished bezel insert. Drawing inspiration from Tudor's original 7922 diver, the Black Bay 54 caters to enthusiasts who prefer a more compact timepiece or desire a vintage aesthetic within Tudor's contemporary collection.

The latest iteration maintains the core specifications of its predecessors. It retains the modest 37mm stainless steel case, with an 11.2mm thickness and a 46mm lug-to-lug measurement. While some might have anticipated a blue tone similar to the Black Bay 58, this new shade is distinct, more akin to the deep blue of the Pelagos 42. The 60-click unidirectional bezel is crafted from sapphire-blue aluminum, accented with silver markings and a lumed pip at 12 o'clock. The gently domed dial features a sunray-brushed finish that adds visual depth, complemented by applied metallic indices filled with Grade A Super-LumiNova for enhanced readability.

Powering the watch is the COSC-certified MT5400 caliber, boasting a 70-hour power reserve, a 28,800 VpH beat rate, and a silicon balance spring. The new Tudor Black Bay 54 "Blue" offers a choice between a three-link stainless steel bracelet with a vintage-inspired design or a customizable rubber strap. Both options are equipped with the brand's "T-fit" clasp, providing five positions for tool-free micro-adjustment. The bracelet model is priced at $4,725, while the rubber strap variant is available for $4,475. This addition provides a versatile and appealing choice for collectors, bridging the gap between the bold "Lagoon Blue" and the historically inspired black dial, offering a clean and appealing aesthetic.
