Union Glashütte Unveils Limited Edition Noramis Date Petro Surf 2026 Watch
Union Glashütte, a distinguished name in German horology, has consistently interwoven its timepieces with the dynamic world of automobiles. Following a tradition of car-inspired designs, the brand now presents its latest creation, a limited edition watch designed to commemorate the Petro Surf Festival 2026. This new release continues the Noramis Date series' legacy, featuring a dial that pays homage to the iconic Fuchs wheel, a design deeply rooted in the history of classic sports cars.
Union Glashütte Debuts Noramis Date Petro Surf 2026 Limited Edition
In a significant announcement, Union Glashütte confirmed its role as an official partner for the highly anticipated Petro Surf Festival 2026, scheduled to take place from June 26 to 28 on the picturesque island of Sylt. This festival is a unique fusion of vintage air-cooled sports cars, the vibrant Californian surf culture, and an edgy urban lifestyle. To mark this special occasion, Union Glashütte has unveiled an exclusive version of its Noramis Date watch, drawing inspiration from the legendary Fuchs wheels that adorned early Porsche 911s, Volkswagen Beetles, and classic beach buggies.
This new iteration of the Noramis Date showcases a striking black color scheme, offering a more audacious and "outlaw" aesthetic compared to previous designs. The watch's 40mm stainless steel case, polished to perfection and featuring a raised bezel and domed sapphire crystal, measures a slender 10.4mm in height, embodying an elegant yet understated presence. It is complemented by a black leather strap secured with a double-folding clasp, enhancing its sophisticated appeal.
The most compelling feature of this timepiece is undoubtedly its dial, meticulously crafted to replicate the distinctive 5-spoke design of the Fuchs wheel. While similar in concept to the 2023 Deutschland Klassik edition, this new model distinguishes itself with a matte black background and black PVD-coated spokes that create a three-dimensional effect. The dial also incorporates decorative screws, reminiscent of wheel nuts, and two-tone hands, with a date aperture thoughtfully placed at the 6 o'clock position on a black disc.
Powering this exquisite watch is the Calibre UNG-07.S1, an automatic movement based on the reliable ETA 2892. This movement is enhanced with a magnetic-resistant silicon balance spring and operates at a modified frequency of 3.5Hz, ensuring a substantial 60-hour power reserve. With a water resistance of 100 meters, this watch is as robust as it is refined.
Limited to just 200 pieces, the Union Glashütte Noramis Date Limited Edition Petro Surf 2026 is priced at EUR 2,780, offering collectors a distinctive blend of precision German engineering and a passion for automotive heritage.
A Timeless Homage to Automotive Craftsmanship
The release of the Noramis Date Limited Edition Petro Surf 2026 is more than just the launch of a new watch; it's a celebration of enduring design and a testament to the symbiotic relationship between fine watchmaking and automotive engineering. This timepiece serves as a reminder that true craftsmanship transcends categories, finding common ground in precision, aesthetics, and a rich history. For enthusiasts of both classic cars and sophisticated watches, this limited edition offers a unique opportunity to own a piece that beautifully encapsulates both worlds, inviting wearers to carry a symbol of automotive legacy on their wrist.
