The unveiling of the UR-150 Golden Scorpion by Urwerk, a pioneering brand in independent watchmaking, occurred recently, showcasing a dazzling transformation for its esteemed UR-150 collection. At the heart of this release is the choice of material: a radiant 2N yellow-gold case that measures 42.5mm in width, 51mm in length, and 14.8mm in thickness. This material selection elevates the watch from its previously technical and cool demeanor to one of unparalleled luxury. The case's surface, along with its sides, undergoes a meticulous sandblasting, microbead-blasting, and satin-finishing process, highlighting the exceptional craftsmanship involved. A gracefully domed sapphire crystal offers a clear view into the watch's intricate display, while the caseback, crafted from Grade 5 titanium with a black PVD coating, ensures durability and comfort. The timepiece is also equipped with a screw-down crown, contributing to its practical 50-meter water resistance.

Regulated by a dual-turbine winding system, the movement is composed of 38 jewels, vibrates at 28,800 oscillations per hour, and boasts a substantial 43-hour power reserve. A specially designed speed regulator skillfully manages the rapid retrograde return, a mechanism inspired by the precision often found in minute repeaters. The movement's components are equally impressive, featuring aluminium satellite hours, a brass flying carousel with 3N gold PVD finishing, a finely sandblasted and satin-finished aluminium retrograde hand, and wheels produced using advanced LIGA technology. The brass rotor is sandblasted and circular-grained, complemented by flat-polished Grade 5 titanium screw heads. To ensure visibility in low light, Super-LumiNova is meticulously applied to the hour and minute markers, the flying carousel, and the counterweight hand.
