The Overseas collection has a storied history, originating from the iconic '222' in 1977, a seminal piece in the luxury sports watch category characterized by its slim profile and integrated design, akin to other celebrated models of its era. The collection was re-envisioned in 1996 as the Overseas and underwent a significant update in 2016, marking its third major iteration. This continuous refinement has established it as a versatile family of watches, encompassing a variety of complications and catering to diverse tastes. In 2023, Vacheron Constantin introduced smaller case sizes, specifically 34.5mm and 35mm, to enhance its appeal, particularly for individuals with more slender wrists. The two newly launched 34.5mm models, crafted from rose gold and stainless steel, are positioned as unisex options.

A hallmark of the current Overseas generation is its unique aesthetic, defined by a tonneau-shaped case, a six-sided bezel reminiscent of the brand's Maltese Cross emblem, and a seamlessly integrated bracelet featuring links shaped like half-Maltese Crosses.
