Vanguart, a distinguished independent watchmaker, has unveiled two captivating new versions of its Orb Flying Tourbillon timepiece. These latest additions, the Orb Pink Ceramic Titanium and Orb Blue Ceramic Rose Gold, introduce vibrant ceramic elements, transforming the watch's aesthetic to be more adaptable for daily wear without compromising its avant-garde mechanical essence. Building upon the innovative foundation of the original Orb, launched in 2024, these models continue to push the boundaries of haute horlogerie with their unconventional design and ingenious functionality.

Vanguart's Orb Flying Tourbillon: A Fusion of Innovation and Style

In a significant development within the luxury watch market, independent watchmaker Vanguart has expanded its acclaimed Orb Flying Tourbillon collection with two striking new variants. These timepieces, dubbed the Orb Pink Ceramic Titanium and Orb Blue Ceramic Rose Gold, were officially presented to the public, marking a notable evolution in the brand's design philosophy. Both models boast a 41mm diameter and a slender 10.5mm thickness, a remarkable feat for a flying tourbillon, ensuring exceptional ergonomic comfort due to their rounded, organic case shape and curved caseback.

The key innovation lies in the integration of ceramic inserts into the case flanks and crown pusher. The pink ceramic option is harmoniously paired with a titanium case, while the blue ceramic complements a sophisticated rose gold case. This meticulous material selection, developed exclusively for the Orb, infuses color into the design, enriching its fluid contours. The cases are meticulously finished with a combination of micro-blasted surfaces and polished bevels, creating a stunning visual contrast and enhanced definition. Despite its intricate design, the watches maintain a practical water resistance of 30 meters.

The dial, a window into the watch's intricate mechanics, remains a focal point. It features an openworked architecture with a sloped hour track adorned with luminescent markers—trapezoidal for the pink version and rectangular for the blue. The chosen ceramic color extends to the dial's periphery and the front oscillating mass, which is elegantly accented with a diamond. Skeletonized, luminescent hands glide over a multi-layered, architecturally inspired movement, where the flying tourbillon and barrel establish a vertical axis, reinforcing the watch's inherent symmetry.

At the heart of these timepieces is Vanguart's proprietary self-winding flying tourbillon caliber. Operating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, it offers a robust 60-hour power reserve. This movement, crafted from grade 5 titanium, is subjected to extensive hand-finishing, showcasing the brand's commitment to artisanal excellence. A distinctive feature is the crown-integrated function selector, allowing the wearer to seamlessly switch between manual winding, automatic winding, and time-setting modes with a simple push. In automatic mode, the peripheral rotor moves freely, its motion accentuated by a diamond, while in manual mode, it locks securely in place. Both the mainplate and bridges are made from microblasted grade 5 titanium, featuring hand-polished bevels and satin finishing.

Each version is completed with a color-matched integrated rubber strap, designed for comfort and secured with a quick-release system activated via a caseback pusher, and a folding clasp. These exquisite timepieces are limited editions, with only 25 pieces available for each color variant. While pricing is available upon request, it is worth noting that the classic titanium edition was previously priced at approximately CHF 150,000, suggesting a similar high-end positioning for these new ceramic models.

These latest releases from Vanguart underscore the brand's philosophy of blending bold experimentation with refined functionality. The introduction of vibrant ceramic not only adds a new dimension of aesthetic appeal but also subtly positions these high-concept mechanical marvels as more adaptable lifestyle accessories. It's a testament to Vanguart's ability to innovate, proving that a watch can be both a complex engineering feat and a versatile companion for various occasions.
