On France's National Day, July 14th, Yema marked the 400th anniversary of the French Navy with the launch of three new Navygraf timepieces. Among these, the Navygraf Barracuda CMM.20 Limited Edition stands out, featuring a distinctive forged carbon dial and bezel, a contemporary twist on the elegant dive watch. Over recent years, the Navygraf collection has evolved, integrating its manufacture calibers while staying true to its 1970s design origins, distinguishing itself from the popular Superman models with unique case and dial aesthetics.

This latest addition to the Navygraf series is a direct homage to the French Navy's Submarine Forces, a collaboration that led to the development of the Barracuda CMM.20 Limited Edition, named after France’s Barracuda submarine program. The use of forged carbon for the dial and bezel offers a fresh, modern appearance without compromising the watch's inherent retro charm. Red accents, particularly the tactical red countdown sector on the bezel, serve as a functional nod to submarine synchronization protocols, allowing for quick tracking of operational maneuvers.

The watch boasts a 39mm stainless steel case, a slim profile, and a 300m water resistance. The unidirectional 120-click bezel features a forged carbon insert with a luminescent countdown scale. The dial, also crafted from forged carbon, displays applied Super-LumiNova markers, with the prominent cardinal markers characteristic of the Navygraf. The black pencil-style hour hand, red arrow-style minute hand, and white seconds hand ensure readability. Turning the watch reveals a special red-tinted "Forces Sous-Marines" case back, symbolizing the tactical nighttime lighting used in nuclear attack submarines and featuring the French Navy Submarine Forces insignia. Powering this watch is Yema's CMM.20 manufacture caliber, a micro-rotor movement developed in Morteau, France, offering a 70-hour power reserve and impressive daily accuracy.

The Yema Navygraf Barracuda CMM.20 Limited Edition masterfully combines a rich historical narrative with contemporary materials and in-house watchmaking. Its striking visual elements, particularly the forged carbon and red accents, create a watch that is both visually engaging and steeped in a compelling backstory. The slim, comfortable wearability on a black nylon NATO strap further enhances its appeal, allowing the unique dial and bezel patterns to truly shine. This limited edition represents a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, offering a distinctive and highly desirable timepiece for enthusiasts and collectors alike. With only 400 units available, this watch is a testament to Yema's commitment to craftsmanship and storytelling, making it a valuable acquisition that celebrates both design and military heritage.
