Armin Strom Unveils Rose Gold Dual Time GMT Resonance Watch
Armin Strom has expanded its acclaimed Dual Time GMT Resonance collection with a new iteration featuring an 18k rose gold case. This latest release retains the complex technical framework and distinctive visual characteristics that define the series, while introducing a more opulent and warm aesthetic. The watch is a testament to the brand's commitment to precision engineering and sophisticated design, offering collectors a refined option within their range of technically advanced timepieces.
The fundamental architecture of this unique travel watch remains consistent with its predecessors. The timepiece showcases a compact 39mm diameter case, measuring a mere 9.05mm in thickness, with a lug-to-lug distance of 44.5mm. Crafted from 18k rose gold, the case features meticulously polished surfaces and sharp bevels, which, in this material, present a softer visual appeal. Signature design elements such as the prominent bezel lip at 6 o'clock and the dual crowns at 4 and 8 o'clock, facilitating independent time zone adjustments, are all preserved. The watch also features sapphire crystals on both the front and back, treated with anti-reflective coating, and offers water resistance up to 50 meters.
The dial side of the watch presents a familiar yet distinct appearance. Two separate time displays are rendered in black gold-colored grenage, each encircled by black azurage chapter rings. Engraved and mirror-polished day/night indicators are thoughtfully placed at 6 o'clock on each sub-dial. The addition of applied rose gold-colored indices and meticulously polished hands further enhances the warmer overall impression. Prominently displayed in the upper section are the two balance wheels, oscillating in clear view and connected by Armin Strom's innovative resonance clutch spring. Below, the intricate ratchet mechanism is positioned between the twin barrels.
Driving this exquisite timepiece is the in-house manufacture calibre ARF22, a manually-wound movement developed entirely by Armin Strom. This sophisticated mechanism incorporates two independent gear trains and regulating systems, which are ingeniously synchronized through resonance. It operates at a frequency of 25,200 vibrations per hour (3.5Hz) and provides a robust 42-hour power reserve. The movement's finish is exceptional, exhibiting meticulous attention to detail on both sides. In line with Armin Strom's stringent quality standards, each watch undergoes a double assembly process to guarantee both precision and superior finishing quality.
The new Dual Time GMT Resonance Rose Gold is presented on an elegant anthracite alligator leather strap, secured with an 18k rose gold pin buckle. This particular version is a limited edition, with only 50 pieces available, and is priced at CHF 115,000. This offering continues Armin Strom's tradition of combining horological innovation with refined aesthetics, catering to connoisseurs of high-end independent watchmaking.
