Experience Unique Craftsmanship: Baltic Prismic Stone Dials

From Limited Edition to Core Collection: The Prismic Stone Dial Journey

Since 2017, the French watchmaker Baltic has captivated enthusiasts with its compact, vintage-inspired designs, distinguished by meticulous details and competitive pricing. The Prismic collection, launched in 2024, elevated this commitment to sophistication, presenting a 1960s 'cocktail watch' aesthetic. It boasted an intricate steel-and-titanium casing, precise Dauphine hands, and a slender hand-wound Swiss movement. Following the success of limited 'showroom editions' featuring colored natural stone dials in major cities, Baltic is now integrating this popular concept into its main product line.

The Allure of Natural Stone Dials in the Permanent Prismic Series

With its first dedicated retail space now operational, Baltic proudly adds the stone dial concept to its enduring collection. The new Prismic Stone series offers four distinct dials crafted from Pietersite, Pink Albite, Bloodstone, and Dumortierite. Each dial is meticulously cut from ancient natural stone, ensuring that every watch possesses a singular pattern and depth, making no two pieces identical.

Enduring Design: The Unchanged Elegance of the Prismic Case

The fundamental design of the Prismic watch remains consistent. Its 36mm case gracefully merges classic cocktail watch proportions with contemporary construction, featuring a bezel, lugs, and case back crafted from 316L stainless steel, affixed to a grain-finished Grade 5 titanium mid-case. The lug-to-lug measurement is 44mm, and the thickness stands at 9.2mm (or 7.4mm without the double-domed sapphire crystal), ensuring a slender profile on the wrist while maintaining a strong visual presence. The tiered bezel showcases a polished upper ring contrasted with a circular-brushed lower section, and the lugs are polished on their top surfaces with horizontal brushing on their sides. The watch also offers a water resistance of 30 meters.

A Canvas for Nature's Artistry: The Pared-Back Stone Dial

The watch face is intentionally minimalist, allowing the inherent beauty of the stones to take center stage. Pietersite, Pink Albite, Bloodstone, and Dumortierite each contribute their own unique patterns and visual depth, ranging from mesmerizing swirling chatoyance to intricate speckling. Polished applied hour markers and brushed Dauphine hands, complete with polished chamfers, ensure a sharp yet understated display. A sub-dial for small seconds, featuring a matching Dauphine hand, is thoughtfully placed at the 6 o'clock position, with the absence of a date window maintaining the dial's pristine surface.

Enhanced Performance: The La Joux-Perret D100 Movement

For this latest collection, Baltic has incorporated the La Joux-Perret D100, a hand-wound movement that provides a 50-hour power reserve and serves as a sophisticated alternative to the ETA Peseux 7001. This movement is visible through the transparent sapphire case back, revealing its modern decorations on the bridges and barrel. Its notably slim height of 2.5mm contributes to the Prismic's distinction as Baltic's most slender watch to date.

Versatile Styling: Strap Options for Every Preference

The Prismic Stone watch comes with a choice of either a refined Italian calf leather strap or Baltic's intricately brushed braided mesh bracelet. The mesh bracelet is designed to conform to the natural curvature of the case and wrist, featuring a sliding clasp for effortless adjustment. Both strap options are equipped with quick-release spring bars for convenient interchangeability.
