Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc recently celebrated a significant triumph at the British Grand Prix, marking his first victory in nearly two years. This momentous occasion saw him proudly displaying his bespoke Richard Mille RM 72-01 'Charles Leclerc' edition, a watch he co-created with the prestigious horology brand.

Leclerc's Victory and Iconic Timepiece

On July 6, 2026, Charles Leclerc, the acclaimed Ferrari racer, broke his winless streak with a spectacular victory at the British Grand Prix. The event was not only a personal milestone but also an opportunity to showcase his distinctive Richard Mille watch. This special edition timepiece, launched in May 2025, is a customized version of the RM 72-01 flyback chronograph. Its design pays homage to Leclerc's Monegasque heritage with a striking red-and-white Quartz TPT case, mirroring the colors of Monaco's flag. The 40mm tonneau-shaped case features a skeletonized dial in matching hues, accented by red chronograph counters and white bridges, while a black crown subtly mimics a car tire. The watch's exhibition caseback reveals the intricate in-house automatic Caliber CRMC-1 movement, boasting hours, minutes, small seconds, a date display, and an integrated flyback chronograph. This innovative function allows for instant resetting and restarting of the chronograph with a single button press. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, the movement provides a robust 50-hour power reserve. Initially released as a limited series of 150 pieces at $300,000, its market value has since nearly doubled, now trading for approximately $700,000 on platforms like Chrono24.

Leclerc's victory at the British Grand Prix has significantly impacted the F1 championship standings, positioning him in fourth place, 71 points behind leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Beyond his racing achievements, Leclerc is recognized for his sophisticated taste, owning a collection of luxury watches and an impressive fleet of Riva yachts, including a new 102-footer acquired earlier this year. His fashion sense is equally refined, featuring high-end brands like Brunello Cucinelli, Off-White, and Giorgio Armani, and he has also ventured into the fashion industry with his own clothing line, CL16, which embodies a blend of 'refined European sensibility' and 'casual elegance.'
