IWC Schaffhausen has expanded its esteemed Portugieser collection with the debut of the Portugieser Yacht Club Perpetual Calendar 42. This new model seamlessly incorporates Kurt Klaus's innovative perpetual calendar, a mechanism celebrated for its user-friendliness, into the collection's sportiest variant. Despite its sophisticated complication, the watch is engineered for regular wear, even during sailing activities, marking a significant evolution for the Yacht Club series.

Tracing its origins, the Yacht Club initially launched in the 1970s as part of IWC's SL collection, conceived by Gerald Genta. It symbolized luxury with a casual flair, blending elegance suitable for a yacht club with the resilience required for active pursuits. After a hiatus, the Yacht Club was revitalized in 2010 under the Portugieser umbrella.
