Longines Debuts Larger, More Robust Legend Diver 59 Watch

Longines has unveiled its latest addition to the Legend Diver collection: a robust 42mm model known as the Legend Diver 59. This new timepiece caters to enthusiasts who prefer a more substantial watch, offering a distinctive matte black textured dial and sandblasted hands with vintage-inspired Super-LumiNova. It builds upon the success of the 2023 39mm refresh, providing an alternative for those with larger wrists while retaining the line's iconic historical design cues. Priced at $4,100, this release demonstrates Longines' ongoing commitment to expanding its popular dive watch offerings.

The 42mm stainless steel casing of the Legend Diver 59 boasts a thickness of 12.85mm and a lug-to-lug measurement of 50.1mm, ensuring a commanding presence. Following the traditional design of Legend Divers, it incorporates two crowns on the right side: one at the two o'clock position for rotating the internal bezel, and another at the four o'clock position for adjusting the time and winding the watch. This classic configuration not only enhances the watch's aesthetic appeal but also reinforces its functional diving heritage.

A notable feature of the new Legend Diver 59 is its dial, which departs from the glossy lacquer finish seen in the current generation of Legend Divers. This model sports a matte black grained-texture dial and internal bezel, contributing to a more rugged and tool-like appearance. This contemporary movement is COSC-certified, guaranteeing exceptional precision. The watch comes equipped with a modern Milanese mesh bracelet, featuring a micro-adjustment system, first seen on earlier Hydroconquest models, along with an additional black rubber strap for versatile wear.
