Sicura Revives Heritage with Hexa 400 Sea Green Dive Watch

Oct 29, 2026, 12:08 PM

Emerging from a long hiatus, the Sicura brand, once instrumental in the revival of Breitling, has introduced a captivating new model to its lineup: the Hexa 400 Sea Green. Under the direction of Ernest “Teddy” Schneider in the 1960s and 70s, Sicura gained recognition for its innovative dive watches featuring multi-bezel systems and dual crowns. Schneider’s subsequent acquisition of Breitling in 1979 led to Sicura’s eventual phasing out as he dedicated efforts to rebuilding the Breitling legacy, culminating in the company’s renaming to Breitling AG by 1993. Fast forward to the present, Sicura, now under the ownership of the Dutch D Group and operating independently of Breitling, has made a triumphant return, drawing inspiration from its iconic 1968 Diver 400 model. The Hexa 400 Sea Green is the latest addition, building upon the initial releases earlier this year.

This new Sea Green variant of the Hexa 400 boasts the same impressive specifications as its recently launched siblings. Encased in a retro-inspired 40mm hexagonal 316L stainless steel case with twin screw-down crowns, the timepiece is powered by a reliable Swiss Sellita SW200 automatic movement. This movement provides essential functions including hours, minutes, seconds, and date, along with a 38-hour power reserve. A striking black ceramic external bezel and a sapphire crystal complement the watch’s design. The internal green-and-white 12-hour bezel, controlled by a secondary crown, allows for tracking a second time zone, while the primary crown handles time and date adjustments. The watch is completed with a brushed stainless steel three-row bracelet featuring a push-button deployant clasp, a security lock, and a diver’s extension or toolless micro-adjustment for enhanced versatility.

The dial of the Hexa 400 Sea Green is a standout feature, distinguished by its vibrant, oceanic green hue. This color evokes the dynamic interplay of light and water, shifting from blue to green as seen during underwater exploration, rather than a static image. The robust, highly legible hands and indices are equipped with ample luminescence, ensuring excellent readability even in low-light conditions. Priced competitively at €1,450 / US$1,650, this watch offers substantial value, combining a distinctive design with robust construction suitable for various adventurous pursuits like hiking, cold plunges, or watersports. Beyond its practical attributes, the Hexa 400 Sea Green carries a rich heritage, inviting wearers to appreciate its historical connection to the watchmaking industry and its role in a narrative that once saved a now-renowned brand.

The return of Sicura with models like the Hexa 400 Sea Green serves as a compelling reminder that innovation and heritage can coexist and thrive. It highlights the enduring appeal of thoughtfully designed timepieces that blend historical significance with modern functionality. Such revivals not only honor the past but also contribute to the vibrant future of watchmaking, proving that a strong foundation can lead to renewed success and appreciation.
